Woodstock Fire/Rescue District has teamed up with renowned organization Chasing4Life to offer a community disaster preparedness seminar on March 1st, 2012 at 7pm.

On Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 7pm Woodstock Fire/Rescue District will be hosting a free Disaster Preparedness Seminar at their Station #3 located at 2900 N. Raffel Rd. in Woodstock, IL. The seminar is presented for all ages to enjoy and learn more about being prepared in extreme weather situations.

Seminar topics will include:

  • What are the warning signs you should be looking for in extreme weather situations?
  • How to prepare for an emergency.
  • What items should be included in an emergency preparedness kit.
  • What should you do if the town is ordered to evacuate.
  • And much more…

Chasing4Life is an educational organization under the direction of well-known author/educator Eddy Weiss with a vision to change the way America views the issue of disaster preparedness. Chasing4Life’s educators present hundreds of programs nationwide each year on subjects ranging from tornado safety to environmental issues and climate change, from the importance of home disaster kits to agro-terrorism threat mitigation. Chasing4Life has been recently featured in magazines such as Emergency Management Magazine and EMS World, and you can find articles written by Chasing4Life educators in magazines such as FireCall.

In an effort to better prepare individuals in the event of a disaster the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District is encouraging community members and businesses to attend this free seminar to learn more. While the event is FREE the District is asking that you register online to make sure they can accommodate all the participants.
